Demonic forces are depicted as working in tandem with these evil ones, amplifying their authority and supporting their deceptive actions. They play a significant role in seducing and manipulating people, leading them away from truth and righteousness. This period represents a time of extreme spiritual warfare.
Multitudes of Demonic Locusts from the Bottomless Pit Torture People without the Seal of God for Five Months

The leader of the demonic locusts has a name, and he is called Abaddon in Hebrew (Revelation 9:11), meaning “destruction.” The Greek is given as Apollyon, which means “destroyer.” He may be the same one whom Daniel called the one “against the Most High” or “a little horn.” Yochanan called him the “sea beast,” and we called him the Evil Helper.
The bottomless pit is a place where evil spirits are imprisoned. When the door of this pit is opened, smoke rises upwards, darkening the sun and sky, and demonic locusts come out from the bottomless pit. They are like scorpions and can hurt people who have the mark of the beast for five months. The pain will make their lives worse than death, but they cannot die. These locusts are commanded not to harm the green things on the ground. Therefore, their abilities are limited and God is still in control.

Although weapons can kill countless people, the most frightening thing is that these 200,000,000 troops are associated with four evil spirits. The future war will be led by a demonic force. So many people will die in this war, but they will not repent and return to God (Revelation 9:13–21).
